Osprey Outfitters Guide Service takes great pride in offering fly fishing throughout Montana. We employ top notch guides, not only for their ability to put their clients on fish, but more importantly for their ability to teach novice and expert anglers about our home waters.
Each one of our guides spends the majority of each year on the water; either working or trout hunting on their own time. To work as a guide at Osprey Outfitters you must have river water running through your veins!
Although the majority of our guided trips are run on the Bitterroot River (our home water), we are licensed for almost all Montana rivers. The other “Big Three” are the Clark Fork and Blackfoot Rivers, which are just a short hour drive from the shop, and the Missouri, an approximate 3 hour drive. If you have the time, it is great to experience more than one of Western Montana’s rivers while you are here.

A day of fly fishing in Montana with Osprey Outfitters all begins about the same. We typically meet at the shop at a pre-designated time. However, we would be happy to pick up and drop off at the hotel or lodge where you are staying.
If you do not have any fishing gear, we will be happy to supply it to you at no charge. All your terminal tackle (flies, leaders & tippet) is also included. We typically fish at least eight hours a day and the trip includes a gourmet stream side lunch as well as snacks and refreshments during the day.
We suggest you bring a few items on your own if you have them:
- 4, 5 &/or 6 Weight Fly Rods
- Polarized Sunglasses
- Waders
- Rain Jackets
- Several layers of clothing ESPECIALLY in the Spring & Fall months
